The throttle position sensors (TPS), sometimes known as a potentiometer, have been failing on a number of late model Ducati’s. This includes 749, 999, 1098, 1198 and models that have a fixed TPS. The fault presents itself as an unresponsive or erratically responding throttle. If the throttle response on your bike is poor this may be the source of the problem.
The problem is expensive to address. Ducati recommend replacing the entire throttle bodies at a cost of one and a half thousand euro.
Here at Mototechnic.ie we are delighted to announce that we have sourced the original Ducati specified TPS as manufactured by Magnetti Marrelli. This is not a spurious part. As a result this problem is substantially cheaper to rectify.
We can now supply and fit a new TPS unit, the same one that Ducati use, to your bike at a cost of only €550. This includes supplying the parts, the labour to fit it and VAT. As with all our work this service is, of course, fully guaranteed.
If you or someone you know needs any further advice on this or any other technical matter on not just Ducati’s, but on any motorcycle please call me on 01 490 8947.
Thanks,
Robbie
